The Sicilian American community of Monterey will celebrate their 74th annual tribute to the fishermen at the 2007 Festa Italia Santa Rosalia on Saturday and Sunday September 8th and 9th. We salute the Italian community and their significant enhancement of the overall Monterey community. Central to the festival celebration is the thought that the lives and vessels of the fishermen were to be protected from the dangerous sea, through the intercession of Santa Rosalia. The group established Monterey as the "Sardine Capital of the World".
Cherry's participants will enjoy the wonderful food, spirited music and other great fun activities at the Festival located in the Custom House Plaza. Cherry's tokens will be accepted at participating booths in the Plaza. You are invited to eat Italian, drink Italian, dance Italian, and be Italian while participating in Cherry's Jubilee 2008.
